A Fitness Lifestyle Photoshoot with Super Star Athlete Nick Fyffe

Photographing lifestyle on location energizes me. As much as I love doing studio photography and shaping light, being outside is my element. As a photographer, even when I’m shooting in the studio, I seem to find myself trying to make the light look like soft natural light. I’ve always been an outside person and involved with sports, so naturally photographing (Vancouver  Lifestyle Photographer) athletes gets me even more jazzed. I have a great appreciation for the dedication and practice involved in achieving greatness. It’s like anything in life if you want to be good at something you need to do it over and over and over again. When you want to be a professional at anything, you need to practice and never stop learning.
A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity of working with UBC track and field star Nicholas Fyffe. Not only is Nick a supreme athlete but now diving into the world of modeling and represented by my friend Sonya’s agency.
We were shooting in the midday sun with no shade in the site, so I decided to use whatever was available to create some (Vancouver  Headshot Photographer) interesting images. I never used to be big on shooting in hard light but seems like I’ve taken a liking to it lately, stepping out of my comfort zone and looking beyond searching for the perfect light. I’ve learned to embrace whatever light I’m given to work with and just figure out how to create images with less control but more freedom to explore different ways of achieving the kind of crisp yet soft editorial style images that keep me excited about my work as a photographer.
